I have already walked almost the amount of road that is on the trail, it’s established on the website that there are about 250 miles of road walk…as I shift onto other substrates, the road by the house I will be at has a very long stretch of road to get to the bus which takes me to the gym for strength training, it is 4.6 miles each way. I also have 7000 acre Lake Eustis that I will be kayaking on as an upper body endurance training program, plus it’s so much fun. So these are things I will have at my disposal beginning 08/01

I am doing 15 minutes of warmup mobility work, especially on dorsiflexion, hip mobility, and spinal decompression right now, I am making pretty good progress in my rang eof motion, so soon I will plan on doing more functional mobility to work strength across full range of motion especially in these areas, but also doing calf raise holds, torso rotation and bending, shoulders (especially dislocates with band), and then I am doing a push-pull split, push, pull, off, off, push, pull, off, off 8 day work week

I don’t currently have a plan, I have been using what I had available with my casual Skechers, and I haven’t had any blister issues, but cotton socks and casual shoes are pretty much the antithesis of what I really need, and when I get home, to transition into wilderness training, I will be getting some merino socks and trail runners

  • Zero-Drop vs. Traditional Drop: Shoes like Altras are “zero-drop” (the heel and toe are the same height off the ground). Since you are already working heavily on ankle dorsiflexion, zero-drop shoes will utilize that new range of motion perfectly, but they require a gradual break-in period to avoid calf strains.
